More than 100 years old, the Märkisches Museum Witten preserves and collects several different parts of art and art history. The main focus of the collection is the art after World War II with a special emphasis on the German Informel. 1988 the museum's building has been completely restored and extended. Today a numismatic collection and a large archive with documents from Westphalian history completes the museum's inventory.
